google-web-1-1

Businesses across industries have one thing in common: everyone wants to appear on the first page of Google when their industry is searched. Businesses invest time, money, and resources on SEO, PPC, ads, and more trying to figure out the perfect recipe for showing up on that coveted spot on Google results. This is especially challenging for new companies, as they do not have pages upon pages of content to attract Google’s “crawlers.” Google wants to give their users the best, most accurate results, and so they give businesses the tools to help them appear where it makes the most sense, for example, the Google My Business page.

The Google My Business page allows businesses to create a profile in order to appear on local searches. The results are location-based so, for example, if someone Googles “Brisbane real estate agency,” your business can show up on page one of results, without doing months of work. According to the National Association of Realtors, “69 percent of home shoppers who take action on a real estate brand website begin their research with a local term, i.e. ‘Houston homes for sale,’ on a search engine.”

Increase visibility

With the help of your Google My Business profile, Google will be aware of all of the key information about your agency that customers are looking for. Google will automatically feature key facts about your agency such as open hours, location, images, reviews, and more. These are all details that you will include in your My Business profile. You will also appear on Google Maps when nearby people search for local real estate agencies.

Customize your page

Once you have set up your page, you can customize it to perfection. Add all of the information that will help your customers get to you. Make sure to add photos, especially of the outside of your building so people can easily find you. Your Google Business page should contain your logo, but consider making the cover photo a picture of yourself. People like to put a face to the name, and in a study conducted by Moz, they found that a good personal photo can increase your traffic by 35%. Try to include reviews, as reviews increase trust. If you don’t have reviews already, consider sending your customers - past and current - your Google My Business Reviews Form.

Analytics

Do you want to know if this is all paying off? At the end of each month, Google sends you a report about how your agency’s business page profile is performing. Google’s report will tell you how often you appeared in searches, how many people clicked through to your site from your Business profile.

These are just a few of the huge advantages of creating a Google My Business, which is free and it only takes minutes to set up. What are you waiting for? Set up your Google business page here.
